OKAbout Huawei Pay Octopus (Personalised Mobile Octopus with Student Status)
Huawei Pay Octopus is an Octopus in HUAWEI Wallet that uses Near Field Communication (NFC) to make contactless payments for transport, shopping and dining in Hong Kong – by just tapping your Huawei Device at Octopus readers. You can easily add a new Octopus, top up, or manage your existing Octopus - all on your Huawei device using HUAWEI Wallet or the Octopus App.

To use Huawei Pay Octopus, you will need to download the Octopus App from Huawei AppGallery.
To use Huawei Pay Octopus, you will need to update your mobile device to the latest system software and HUAWEI Wallet app to 9.0.11 version or above, login HUAWEI WALLET with Huawei ID in order to use Huawei Pay Octopus.
To transfer your Personalised Octopus with Student Status to Huawei Pay Octopus, you need to meet the following:
- Holding an eligible Personalized Octopus with Student Status; and
- Aged 13 or above
If your MTR Student Travel Scheme has expired, you need to apply for renewal via MTR to continue enjoy the MTR concessionary fares.
Please note that if your physical Personalised Octopus with student status has submitted a renewal application, please do not proceed with card transfer. You can activate your physical Octopus card, and then transfer to Mobile Octopus.
Huawei Pay Octopus is just like your physical Octopus card with the added benefit of being able to top up on the go using your UnionPay credit card on Huawei Pay. You can also transfer fund from your Octopus Wallet to Huawei Pay Octopus, use Huawei Pay Octopus to apply Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS), as well as collect public transport fare subsidies, and make online payments at designated online merchants via the Octopus App.
The stored value limit is HK$3,000.
